Op zaterdag 2 december werden in St. Moritz in Zwitserland de World Luxury Hotel Awards uitgereikt en ontving Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam zowel de award voor 'Luxury City Hotel Western Europe' als de award voor 'Luxury Eco/Green Hotel Western Europe'. Deze eervolle awards vormen een mooie afsluiter van een lange lijst aan prestigieuze awards die het luxe hotel eerder dit jaar in de wacht sleepte. Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam ontving dit jaar een recordaantal awards: maar liefst 20 voor The Grand en zes voor restaurant Bridges. Het restaurant werd op maandag 11 december voor het vijfde jaar op rij bekroond met een Michelinster.
Remco Groenhuijzen, General Manager Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, blikt tevreden terug: "Het was een erg succesvol jaar, waarin de verschillende teams binnen ons hotel beloond zijn voor hun harde werk, enthousiasme en inzet. Zo zijn we niet alleen als hotel in zijn geheel in de prijzen gevallen, maar is bijvoorbeeld ook onze Director of Sales & Marketing Kees Hogetoorn persoonlijk beloond voor zijn jarenlange vertegenwoordiging van ons hotel binnen het Virtuoso-netwerk. Ook zijn wij erg blij dat onze inzet op het gebied van duurzaamheid niet onopgemerkt zijn gebleven. Kortom, deze grote hoeveelheid awards vormt een kroon op het werk van al onze collega's."
